If using as an ID tag in the UK, the Control of Dogs Order 1992 states that any dog in a public place must wear a collar or engraved tag with the name and address (including postcode) of the owner. Your telephone number is optional but we would recommend this. Here’s a suggested example of what the Control of Dogs Order 1992 requires on a dog tag:
